Sonja Weissenbacher, CPA,CA, FEA – Founder, Principal Consultant
sonjaAs an entrepreneur, Sonja has been a co-founder and operator for a number of start-ups. Sonja has significant life long experience with family enterprises as well as expertise as a turnaround specialist.

A graduate of McGill University, Sonja has a Bachelor of Science (Biology/Genetics), a Diploma of Public Accounting, is a Chartered Accountant, a FAMILY ENTERPRISE ADVISOR™  ("FEA") and an alum of KPMG.

As an FEA, Sonja employs a family first approach, offering an independent, neutral perspective concerning family dynamics, strategy, governance, business continuity and general business matters. The objective is to help build a foundation for family harmony, business success, inter-generational business continuity and a family legacy. She works with families to identify strategies and best practices to achieve sound continuity plans for families, ownership and businesses (see More).

Sonja consults to and has served various boards as a director and committee member drawing upon her experience in finance, governance, strategy and leadership development.

Sonja's  experience also includes working at senior management, executive levels and as a business consultant within the oil and gas, financial, health care, advertising/marketing, public utilities and not-for-profit sectors.

While at KPMG, Sonja worked with private and publicly traded medium to large enterprises within the manufacturing, entertainment, financial, retail, transportation and logistics, and oil and gas sectors. She provided services in the areas of audit, merger and acquisitions and due diligence investigations.

Sonja, a keen alpine skier, is a certified ski instructor and shares her love of the sport by teaching 3 year olds to senior-aged enthusiasts. She and her husband have been married for over 30 years and have 2 children.

James Allan, CPA,CA  – Founder, Principal Consultant
A serial entrepreneur, with a keen interest in marketing, Jim owns and operates a number of small and medium size businesses including the Northern Gifts Group which was responsible for the design, manufacturing and distribution of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic plush Mascots.

Jim has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Graduate Degree in Public Accounting from McGill University. An alum of KPMG, he is a Chartered Accountant. While at KPMG, his experience included audit, forensic accounting, business valuations and taxation.

Jim has worked as a Corporate Controller, Chief Financial Officer, CEO and Director. As one of Edendale's principal business consultants, Jim specializes in entrepreneurship, business recoveries (financial turnarounds) and interim executive assignments. He is experienced in a wide range of industries including mining, oil and gas, offshore manufacturing, import and export, wholesale distribution, retail and service.
